Our Masters program follows a competency–based education model with a mastery-focused outcome. This means students build skills progressively throughout the program and are expected to demonstrate mastery of required services and modalities by graduation.
This approach allows students to continue learning and developing skills while ensuring that, by the end of the program, they have the confidence, consistency, and hands-on competence required to graduate and enter the industry.

In-House Hands-On Training
The in-house, hands-on portion of the program is instructor-led and skill-intensive, with a strong emphasis on applied learning.
Students learn services and modalities through instructor-led demonstrations and guided instruction, followed by supervised practice with classmates and clients. Skills are developed progressively throughout the program, allowing students to build confidence and competency over time.
The program is designed to support ongoing skill development across multiple services, rather than requiring complete mastery of each service before introducing the next. All required skill and service check-offs must be successfully completed and demonstrated at a competent level by graduation.
Our competency-based program allows you the opportunity to finish our Masters Esthetics program more quickly than other non-competency-based schools and the opportunity to even finish more quickly than other students studying in your program at our school.

Competency–based education at the Aesthetics Institute is not intended as a shortcut to licensure, but a structured model that emphasizes professional readiness, confidence, and long-term growth.

Our priority is not rushing students through training but rather making sure graduates feel confident in their practical skills, comfortable with real clients, and well-grounded in key theoretical concepts.
The esthetics and beauty industry is constantly evolving, with new techniques, technologies, ingredients, and research emerging regularly. Our program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation that prepares them to continue learning, growing, and advancing their education throughout their esthetics careers.
Finals Week & Program Completion
All students complete a scheduled Final Exams Week at the end of their program, which includes written exams to assess theoretical knowledge and practical evaluations to confirm hands-on competency. Successful completion of Final Exams Week, along with all required service and skill mark-offs, is required for graduation.

In most hourly-based programs, the curriculum is focused solely on passing tests. Competency-based training allows the development of abilities to pass all needed exams and feels confident as you move into the industry.

In-house, hands-on practice taught and supervised by expert instructors ensure you not just learn the skills, but you master them!
Specialization
Because of its flexibility, the program allows the student to identify and gain additional experience in a specialized area of the Masters Esthetics Program.
