Online theory, paired with in-house, hands-on training, based on our competency-based education model, allows you maximum flexibility to complete our program.
See exactly how below:
The first seven weeks of the class are entirely online for both full and part-time students. After you complete the online portion of the course, you will move to the in-house, hands-on practical training portion of the course at our school facilities.
Seven weeks of online learning paired with 11-12 weeks of in-house, hands-on training equals 4.5 months of total time to complete the program.
*The first week of in-house training requires ALL students to attend full-time. After the first week, you move to your part-time schedule*
The time it takes to complete the program varies slightly due to holiday breaks. Please speak with an Admissions representative to confirm exact dates.
"I chose to attend the Aesthetics Institute because I wanted a hands-on learning experience that I knew I would get. I was excited to take on clients and see people experience real results."

The first seven weeks of the Masters Esthetics Program are entirely online for both full-time and part-time students.
While there are weekly coursework assignment deadlines, this first portion of our course allows students to complete their coursework at their own weekly pace, at any time of the day, and on any day of the week that best works for their schedule. Curriculum is released weekly and students are expected to stay current with their studies based on the course syllabus provided.
Each course has an instructor assigned to support students and keep them on track with the online material. Instructors regularly review and respond to student questions.
Additionally, there is one live online class offered during the online portion of the course, and students are given plenty of notice about its date and time.
All students are considered “full-time” during the online portion of the course. The time students actually spend on coursework each week will vary depending on the individual and the difficulty of the material covered.
After you complete the online portion of the course, you will move to the in-house, hands-on practical training portion of the course at our school facilities.

Our Masters program follows a competency–based education model with a mastery-focused outcome. This means students build skills progressively throughout the program and are expected to demonstrate mastery of required services and modalities by graduation.
This approach allows students to continue learning and developing skills while ensuring that, by the end of the program, they have the confidence, consistency, and hands-on competence required to graduate and enter the industry.
Please note that ONLY our Masters Esthetics program (our general esthetics program), is offered as a competency-based course.
Our Advanced Esthetics program is not offered as a competency-based course. The state of Oregon requires Advanced Esthetics to be taught as a 500-resident hour course.
