Out of State & International Transfer Students
The esthetics industry continues to grow by leaps and bounds, and there is no exception to that industry trend in Oregon. Adding that Portland continues to be one of the most desirable cities to move to, we are always at the ready to welcome out-of-state estheticians and students.
If you have COMPLETED your esthetics training and are looking to transfer your current esthetics license to practice in Oregon, you will need to contact the state of Oregon Board of Cosmetology. They have outlined steps for this transfer process, and this is the first place you need to start this process. Their website can be found here.
If you are currently IN PROGRESS in an esthetics program in a different state and are looking to transfer your credits to complete your esthetics training in Oregon, it does get a little more complicated. We are always happy to help students continue and complete their esthetics training. Still, we want to be very transparent that this process varies significantly from state to state and is highly dependent on the type of school and program you are attending or have attended.
If you are not currently enrolled in your esthetics program and are looking to transfer past esthetics credits to the state of Oregon, that also presents another set of challenges. None of these challenges are insurmountable but will require some work on your part, gathering as much documentation you can get from your current or previous esthetics program.
You will need to provide the state of Oregon with this documentation to start the process of evaluating your current completed credits. The state of Oregon is the final authority on accepting transfer credits from out of state.
